108 Sun Salutations to celebrate Summer Solstice - Outdoors

Sun Salutes rescheduled from June 20th, Summer Solstice to Saturday, June 27th. Join me for this amazing tradition. The group energy carries you through this vigorous practice. We will complete 108 rounds of Surya Namaskar A, Sun A. Reaching high to honor the Sun then bowing to the Earth, we are the connection between the two. In Yoga, the 108 Sun Salutes are often done to honor change, for example, a change in season or to bring peace and understanding at a time of uncertainty.

Why 108? The number 108 is recognized as significant in many religions (108 beads on both the Hindu Japa Mala and the Catholic Rosary bead, referred to in Islam as well as in mathematics, astrology. In Hinduism, it refers to spiritual completion. The number 108 is seen in many disciplines but in a simplistic viewpoint, the auspicious number 108 connects science with the human body, mind, and spirit.
