Restorative Teacher Training Level 1

Restorative Yoga uses long-held, supported poses to cultivate conscious relaxation and most importantly, to release unnecessary habitual tension in the body and mind. Restorative Yoga is about just being, not doing.

The effort involved in Restorative Yoga is the ability to look at how and where we are holding tension. Restorative Yoga is the willingness to relax our body, and allow the breath to come in more, so the tension can be softened and released. Discovering where and how we hold tension helps us find room for change so that our physical, emotional, and mental wellness is not limited, and we find comfort in our body.

You will learn how to guide yourself or students through a practice of Restorative Yoga that helps them release layers of tension, engage the relaxation response, and feel more at ease in their bodies. Through lectures, readings, and discussions you will explore how the gross anatomy, subtle energy, emotional body, and mental body can work together in the restorative poses. Upon completion, you will be able to create, guide, and practice a customized Restorative Yoga sequence.
